Do you have discolored, worn down, cracked or chipped teeth?
Restorations called Dental Veneers can be the answer to one or all of these issues. Dramatic improvements can be achieved in as few as two or three dental visits. Veneers can reverse the appearance of years worth of staining caused by certain foods, beverages and tobacco. They can also be used to close unsightly and troublesome gaps between teeth.
It is important to understand that having veneers placed is a non- reversible procedure. When a tooth is prepped, a small layer of enamel is smoothed away to allow the proper thickness needed for the restoration to be placed correctly. After this process is completed, an impression is taken and sent to a lab where the final veneer is created. Upon completion at the lab, we then use a special cement to bond the veneer to the tooth and seal the bond with a unique light.
Over time, teeth can become crooked, chipped, cracked and even overlap as a result of an injury, grinding or even heredity.
A procedure called cosmetic contouring and reshaping can remedy this and greatly improve these conditions. A tooth can be gently reshaped by removing a small amount of enamel to smooth a rough edge and or even correct alignment in cases where a tooth is crooked. This is a minimally invasive procedure but can produce dramatic results.
